Panjim
anjim, the world famous capital of Goa is considered as the ‘gateway to Goa’s unique world’. Located on the silvery banks of Mandovi river, Panjim is the epicentre of Goa’s tourism industry. This beautiful town is dotted with red-roofed houses, built in the Latin style. Apart from these old houses, Panjim also boasts modern houses, well laid gardens, statues and avenues lined with Gulmohar, Acassia and other trees. Largo da Igreja – (Chruch Square) is an impressive structure in Panjim.
Anjuna beach and its Wednesday flea market: Heralded as the “freak capital of Goa”, Anjuna beach is one of the most fave tourist destination of vacationers in Goa. Round the year, this beach is chock-a-blocks with holidaymakers who loves to engage themselves in sunbathing or swimming, here on Anjuna beach. This exotic beach is also known for its rocking rave parties which lasts till wee hours. Another prime attraction of Anjuna beach is its Wednesday flea market. Old Goa: Old Goa or Velha Gao is the ancient part of this emerald land and still possesses the rich Portuguese heritage and culture. As it was served as the capital of Portuguese Goa from the mid 16th century to 1843. Every nook and corner of this town is dotted with several ancient and religious specimens such as The Tower of St. Augustine. Velha Goa is also known for its scenic beauty and idyllic atmosphere.
The Basilica of Bom Jesus: Counted among one of the World Heritage Sites of India, Basilica of Bom Jesus is one of the highly revered pilgrimage site for Christians of all over. It houses the remains of St Francis Xavier, the founder of the Jesuit order. This Basilica of Goa is wonderfully decorated and is a visual retreat.
Dudhsagar Water Fall: Dudhsagar Waterfall is another natural treasure of Goa. This stunning natural sight is hidden deep inside the 90 square miles of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary on the fringe of Western Ghats, nearby to Karnataka border. This waterfall is considered to be the highest waterfall of India and beckons large number of hikers and trekkers every year.
